This ranch house was designed for the long haul: a home where a family of ten, including four young grandchildren, can gather for the next twenty years and beyond. We reworked the first floor into a connected kitchen, great room, and dining space that seats everyone at once, added a separate den for cozy TV nights, moved the laundry to the main floor, and cut a door from the kitchen to the patio the family never had access to. Outside, new front windows, a revised entrance, and a new garage door added privacy without sacrificing light.
